about me

I grew up in the Badger state wanting to attend the University of Wisconsin. I graduated from UW cum laude with an Industrial Engineering degree then started my professional career as a cost engineer at IBM in Rochester, Minnesota. There I learned the product development life cycle and was quickly entrusted with delivery of key global programs. I thrived in a collaborative team setting with experienced colleagues investing in me and others.

I wanted a bigger challenge, so I pursued a move to Chicago and a systems engineer role in IBM’s Chicago Insurance Office, which at the time was their second largest marketing office. That move also allowed me to be closer to family. After a few years serving large clients in the insurance industry, I requested a move into consulting to get more client-facing experience. After 1-½ years on IBM’s largest process re-engineering project to date, my client offered me a job. From there I leveraged my network for subsequent opportunities with two more world class, global professional services organizations -- Accenture and Deloitte.

At Accenture, I discovered my passion for developing people. I built and led several global teams that thrived. I sought and was entrusted with opportunities to facilitate training, to mentor and coach many colleagues. This is where I find joy. In 2019, three managers from the team I led were selected for a global program for high-potential managers with <30 participants. After nine years at Deloitte -- with 35 years experience in global professional services firms and 20+ years as a successful senior executive -- I stepped away from an Associate Director position to concentrate on coaching.

I have served in various leadership roles in the church. I am often seen teaching, equipping, mentoring and coaching future leaders, current leaders, and leaders of leaders.

I am an avid sports fan of the Packers, Badgers, Fighting Illini, Bucks, Brewers and White Sox. My wife, Kim, says "there is no off season at our house.” I am a proud Green Bay Packers owner.

Kim and I make our home in Southwest Florida. Together we have led multiple international mission trips. We have two grown sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and six grandchildren. In our free time, we enjoy traveling, especially on road trips to scenic hiking adventures.
